During the mid-twentieth century, scientists and engineers began pushing the limits of technology to create a new kind of machine, one that could compute at lightspeed and store worlds of data. Unfortunately, foreign program codes, unwieldy design, and expensive materials barred the average citizen from utilizing the technology. These barriers convinced brilliant young minds, such as Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Bill Gates, to design the inexpensive, easy-to-use, and portable personal computer (PC). Their cutting-edge PCs broke barriers in affordability, accessibility, and versatility, thrusting the world into the microcomputer revolution.
